What an interesting and challenging legislative session we had this year!

With a record amount of revenue flowing into our state this year, and as part of the Appropriations Committee, I have been working diligently to protect your tax dollars and use them wisely.

As a true conservative, I understand the importance of limited government and making decisions that represent the people, instead of endorsing backdoor political deals.

I also believe in transparency, and would like to update you on several bills that were introduced this session to help safeguard South Dakota. And although this session just ended, we are not giving up the fight for open honest government!

With some of my fellow freedom fighters in Pierre, fighting the good fight for our citizens!To start, I made it a priority to address our current voting system. HB1329 supported forensic audits after our elections, and it successfully passed the House, but unfortunately died in the Senate.

Without election integrity, this country as we know it will no longer exist.

The House passed an across-the-board sales tax reduction only to have the Senate kill it. We have the revenue, we just need to give it back to the people. Here, you can see the representatives who stood with me in cutting sales tax! We won’t give up.Unfortunately, HB1327, which was intended to lower the sales tax throughout South Dakota, died in the Senate as well. This is just another example of why we should hold our leaders accountable and make sure to elect like-minded and principled people.

Despite bumps like these along the way, I will continue to work on reducing taxes and fees. As your Representative, I have prioritized fiscal responsibility for the people of South Dakota and will carry that same responsibility all the way to Washington, D.C.

We are fighting for the right to life; and the right to keep and bear arms. We’re standing up for our brave men and women in uniform, and advocating for open, honest government.

Had a great weekend in Lemmon, Presho, and Kennebec! Presho had an awesome St. Patrick’s Day parade!I’ve enjoyed getting to meet so many of you, and to hear your thoughts and input for South Dakota’s future. I’m encouraged each time I get to spend time with patriots across the state!

Enjoyed spending time with fellow conservatives this weekend. Always a delight to discuss the future of South Dakota!This past weekend, I traveled to Lemmon, Presho, and Kennebec. What a great turnout! Small towns are my favorite, and it was a highlight of my week to spend time with everyone.

Also! I have several upcoming events, and I would love to have an opportunity to meet with you.

This Friday, March 18th, I’ll be in Spearfish for a meet-and-greet from 6-8pm at the Sunshine Saloon. And then on Tuesday, March 22nd, I’ll be having a Belle Fourche meet-and-greet at the Belle Fourche Community Hall from 7:00-8:30pm.
